Since 2020, Lin Cognito’s murder mystery parties have brought old and new friends together for laughs, thrills, and a whole lot of puns.

In 2019, Lin Cognito saw Knives Out in theaters and thought, “Wouldn’t that be a fun party?” She put together a murder mystery set on a cruise ship, which unfortunately took place in March 2020…as cruise ships made headlines for being superspreader sites. (No, COVID was not the murderer in the party.) Folks loved hunting for clues, and the party became a yearly tradition for Lin’s neighbors, friends, and family across the US.

Who Is Lin Cognito?

Lin Cognito is the murder-solvin’, party-hostin’ alter ego of Megan Okonsky. Okonsky is a ghostwriter and the author of The Barefoot Followers of Sweet Potato Grace. Known for her conversational voice and quick wit, Okonsky works with founders to uncover their “hero’s journey” and produce insightful, well-researched, and accessible books.
